How do I upload a video to Microsoft Stream and place it in the course content?

This guide describes the recommended workflow of how to upload and place a Microsoft Streams video in your course content. The workflow consists of two steps:

Step 1: Upload your video into Microsoft Streams

  1. Go to your Microsoft Streams Homepage .
  2. Click the drop down menu next to Create .
  3. Click on Upload video.

Drag in or (click) browse for your video.

  1. Click on a file to upload.
  2. Then click on Open.
  1. (Optionally) Customize the Name, Description and other details to your liking.
  2. Click on Publish when you're done.

Step 2a: Place your MS video as an embedded file.

  1. Once uploaded, click on My content.
  2. Click on the three dots next to your video.
  3. Click on share
  4. Click on Embed and Copy the code.

 

 

  1. Navigate to the unit/lesson where you want to place the video.
  2. Click on the three dots, then select Edit.

 

On the editing page click on Insert Stuff, which should bring up a new window.

  1. In the new window click on Enter Embed Code and paste the previous copied code there.
  2. Click on Next you should get a  preview.
  3. When you're happy with look click Insert.
  4. Don't  forget to hit Save or Save and Close when you're done.

Your video is now placed in the course! You can move the video as desired.

 

Step 2b: Place your Microsoft Stream video in course content via a link

  1. Go to the Microsoft Stream video that you want to share.
  2. Click on Share and copy the link.
  1. And this time when navigating to the unit/lesson where you want to place the video, follow the same steps as Step 2a until Insert Stuff.
  2. There you want to click on Insert link, then paste your link in the box.
  3. You can now hit Next and Insert again.
  4. Don't  forget to hit Save or Save and Close when you're done.
