When you log in to Brightspace, your homepage will be the first page you land on. Every Brightspace homepage has the same layout (regardless of whether you are a student or a staff member).

Please click on the topics below for in-depth information of each element of the Brightspace Homepage.
- The header of the Brightspace Homepage contains a minibar with notification alerts among other things.
- From the navigation bar you can access Quick Eval, Brightspace Help and HHS Applications (such as: Osiris, Webber and Library)
- In the My Courses widget you will see all the courses in which you are enrolled
- In the Calendar widget you can review upcoming events, activities, and deadlines from all the courses you are enrolled in.
1. The Brightspace Homepage header
- Click on the THUAS/HHS logo or the Home Icon to return to the Brightspace Homepage.
- Click on the Course Selector icon to see a list of the courses you are enrolled in.
- Click on the Subscription Alert icon to review notifications on discussion threads you subscribed to.
- If there is an orange notification badge present, it means there is an update in one of the discussion threads you subscribed to.
- You can control if you receive updates on subscriptions.
- Click on the Update Alert icon to review.
- If there is an orange notification badge present, it means there is a new update for you.
- You cannot control the update alerts that come through here.
- Click on your name or picture to access your Personal Profile or to Log Out. See below for more information on:
2. The Brightspace Homepage navigation bar
Depending on the screen you are in, the navigation bar might show different or additional options. This manual is for the Homepage navigation bar.
- Click on My Home to go back to your home page.
- Click on Quick Eval to open the Quick Eval tool. Read more about Quick Eval Here.
- Access the Brightspace user manuals by clicking on Brightspace Help
- Under HHS Applications you can find quick links to the different education applications used within THUAS.
3. The My Courses widget
- You can use the arrow to collapse this widget
- You can use this bar to move between pinned and unpinned courses.
- Your Pinned courses. Click here for more information on how to pin/unpin courses.
- All your courses, these include the pinned and unpinned courses. Unpinned courses are immediately assigned to "All" and do not have an own icon.
- In case you want to pin/unpin courses or change the banner or read the course information you can click on the three dots that will appear when moving around with your mouse.
- The View All Courses widget, if you are enrolled in 20+ click on View All Courses to get a full overview.
- This icon shows there is a notification within the course.
4. The Calendar widget
- Click on the current date to open the Month View of the Calendar
- Click on a date with a dot, to review that day's events/activities/deadlines.
- Click on Upcoming events to review all future events.
