When you have created a group assignment and linked it to a grade item, you can award the same grade to all group members using Assignments. If you want to give one or more group members a different grade, use Grades.
If you want to use Grades, you could choose to create a grade item first. Then you have to attach it to an assignment. To learn more about this, please read the following articles:
Table of Contents
Assessing using Assignments
- Navigate to Course Tools in the navbar of your course.
- Click Assignments.
- Click the desired assignment.
- At the bottom of the screen you will see the assignments that have been handed in as well as who handed in what.
- Click Evaluate (or click on Draft Saved/Published if you have entered or published a grade/feedback before).
- Fill in the score.
- Add feedback if necessary. You can also add feedback to the attachment by clicking Add a File.
- Click Publish to publish the feedback to the group or click Save Draft to save the feedback without publishing it.
All group members will receive the same grade and feedback, which can be found in their grade book or in Assignments.
Assessing using Grades
Entered grades are only copied and registered directly if you add the Grade Item through the tool you wish to assess. This way, when you enter grades in the tool, they will automatically be added to the Grade Book. If you enter grades manually in the Grade Book, they will not show in the tool you have added the grade item to, and they will deviate from any grades you enter through the tool.
- Navigate to Course Tools in the navbar of your course.
- Click Course Admin.
- Click Grades.
- Click on the fold-out arrow next to the desired grade item.
- Click Enter Grades.
- Use Grade to change the grade for individual students.
- Use Feedback to add feedback for individual students. It is not possible to add an attachment like you can do when using Assignments.
Click Save and Close.
It is now also possible to grade a(n) (group)assignment through the content part of a course. In this article you can read more about this.
